Frequently Asked Questions
What conditions are covered under the Kentucky Medical Cannabis program?
- Cancer (any kind)
- Chronic/Cyclic Nausea and Vomiting
- Chronic or severe pain
- Epilepsy or other intractable seizure disorders
- Multiple sclerosis, muscle spasms, or spasticity
- PTSD
More conditions are being reviewed and will hopefully be added to the Kentucky Medical Cannabis program in the near future.
Can I use insurance for my visit?
Currently, Kentucky law does not mandate insurance companies to cover medical cannabis evaluations or treatments. As such, we do not accept insurance for payment and are a self-pay service.
What is the cost?
Initial certification appointments are $150. Renewal certification appointments are $75.
*Prices subject to change. Price match may be offered with proof of in person certification quote from Kentucky licensed medical cannabis provider within a 50 mile radius of Paducah, KY.
What are your hours?
Currently, our practitioner works another full time job in addition to performing medical cannabis exams. Due to this, hours will typically be after normal business hours during the week, and on weekends.
We are available by phone Monday – Friday, 8a-5p CST.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can self-schedule an appointment with our Calendly link, just click right here!
Why do you charge a pre-payment of the appointment?
To ensure that we can continue to keep our prices low and have available appointments for clients interested in a medical cannabis card, we have implemented a pre-payment on your appointment to reduce no-shows. By collecting this fee, you will owe nothing at the time of the appointment.
For more information, please see the cancellation and rescheduling policy below.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
To protect the practice and to continue offering affordable care, below is our official cancellation and rescheduling policy:
- Cancellations: Appointments cancelled up to 12 hours before the scheduled time will incur no cancellation charge.
Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance or no-shows are non-refundable. - Rescheduling Fee: If you need to reschedule your appointment, no fee will be charged if done more than 12 hours before the scheduled appointment.
If rescheduled less than 12 hours prior to the appointment, the booking fee will be retained for future appointments.
This helps to offset the costs associated with holding time for you on the provider’s calendar.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
- Valid government issued ID
- Medical records showing treatment for a covered condition that is approved by the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program (these can be primary care, specialty, chiropractic, therapy, or any other medical records documenting diagnosis and treatment)
Can the visit be completed virtually or via telehealth?
Kentucky regulations mandate that the initial appointment is completed in person via a face-to-face visit.
Renewal visits can be completed via telehealth.
Please do not fall victim to scams offering initial telehealth appointments. This is happening in our area, and these exams are not valid.
Is the program available to minors (under age 18)?
Yes! With a parent/legal guardian’s consent, minors with a qualifying health condition are eligible to qualify for a Kentucky Medical Cannabis Card.
